The scope of social media output vs consumption ends with most creative scraps rotting on the binary floor. Lost in a sea of endless ones and zeros. And now that I enter my “old man yells at cloud” years, I find myself detaching from the current landscape of the World Wide Web. My socials will remain active, but rarely used. This newsletter will be where I announce new releases, upcoming shows, and occasional hyperbolic ramblings. Seeing how we got the latter out of the way, let’s get into the formers…

Music & shows

$45 a year is relatively cheap when it comes to distributing music to all the major streaming services, even if I broke even at the end of the year. But these streamers don’t pay peanuts, just a single seed coat.

So I’m saving my hard earned peanuts from my soul crushing corporate job and hosting my music exclusively on BandCamp.

I released a new song quietly back in April. Cigs In Your Car. But I’ll talk about that more later.

DIY till I die, right? In addition to songs, I also write poetry and prose. Growing up in the punk scene, I had my fair share of helping others put together zines. But never made my own. Until now.

Hiraeth is my first collection of writings and collage work. They are not for sale. I am not shipping them. I am spreading them around Tulsa. Free to whoever finds em. Happy hunting. I’ll have them at shows as well.

Got a few solo shows coming up.

And that’s about it for this letter. Working on two records right now. An acoustic EP and a full length with the band. More shows and other creative ventures down the line, I’m sure. I appreciate you signing up for the newsletter, if you did. I appreciate you if you made it all the way to this last paragraph. Hopefully I’ll see ya at a show.

Much love,

JK.
